The Fethiye Marina Project is located along the coastline of Fethiye town center. In the
design process, the major design concept was the relationship of the green and wooded
site with the interior and exterior spaces. Another influential design element is the
construction system used, in which the steel frame inner structure is finished with solid
wood cladding on the exterior and gypsum board panels on the interior surfaces. The
windows, window frames and sills, roof and floor joints include unique details that were
examined and tested before implementation. The architectural drawings include all details,
and the construction was completed rapidly through the use of dry-construction
and mounting systems. With a well-planned project management and coordination
process, the construction of the Marina Buildings was completed in six months.

Built on the sheltered area of Oyuktepe Peninsula on the Southwest of Fethiye Bay,
Fethiye (Ece Saray) Marina is located on the shore side of the city centre, on the narrow
west side of Fethiye Port. The existing pine trees on the site resulted in the scattering
of the facilities of superstructure of the marina into the proper places of the land. The
main design approach was determined by the arrangement of spaces left between
the units and covered promenades provided the integrity of the whole site. Unlike the
conventional concrete marinas and marina superstructures built in Turkey, here, steel
structure was employed, which could be built fast with the technique of dry assembly.
To secure minimum impact on the environment, this sustainable approach of easily
recyclable light consruction system was also implemented in the infrastructure and the
floating pontoons which have a capacity of 460 yachts. One storey high units of this
marina are cladded with wood in accordance with the environment it is placed in. With
its yacht club, shopping centre, playground, restaurant, cafes and bars; this facility is not
only a transaction place and landing site for yachts but also, thanks to its approximity
to downtown, a busy centre participating in the social life.
Fethiye Marina is being run with a current boutique hotel in line with the model aiming
at integrating marinas with the accomodation facilities and to meet the new propensities
of yachters, services such as restaurant, bars, swimming pool, SPA and wellness
center are included.
