trees i.e. Stigma ‘Msoo’. The species is only found in this<br />

forest in the whole world.<br />

activities such as carvings and traditional dances.<br />

• Lake Challa; attractive potential site for developing tourist<br />

resort.<br />

6.5 Industrial Sector:<br />

Establishment of small scale industries is possibly the most<br />

appropriate approach of solving the problem of unemployment in<br />

the region what has been achieved so far in this sector is well<br />

appreciated, however, the problem of much unemployment in<br />

both rural and urban areas is still glearingly big almost in all the<br />

region’s districts. Further investment in appropirate agrobased<br />

and service oriented small scale industries is greatly encouraged<br />

for job creation opportunities in the region. The existence of a<br />

network of electricity power supply in the rural areas (30.3% of<br />

all villages in the region are supplied with this farm of energy )<br />

encourages the idea of further investment into appropriate<br />

industries in the region.<br />

6.6 Women Development:<br />

Women economic contributions to family incomes is very<br />

significantly appreciated. Women in <strong>Kilimanjaro</strong> region have<br />

excelled in this. Women in rural areas in the region roughly earned<br />

about 30 percent of their family income. These contributions by<br />
