generate additional income.
2.4.7 Social Aspects
From its beginnings, “AIPSAA” has performed an important role in the
development of the community of Paramonga, principally for the generation of
direct and indirect work that derives from its activities.
In November of 2006, the company opened a window for communal relations,
devoted to attend the community, receiving its consultations and suggestions to
strengthen the relation between the company and the population. Thereby it
propitiates a space of dialog, participation and transparency, key aspects to
achieve the success of social responsibility (AIPSAA, 2011c).
The company also takes actively part in the development of civic activities and
distrital committees. Through its bulletin “Paramonga al día” it gives information
to the population and institutions about the various communal activities and
environmental matters that it develops.
As part of the support to the community, every month it is set the delivery of
supplies to the infantile dining room “Corazón de María” of the Parish Church of
Paramonga. At the same time, it is set the delivery of sugar to 51 “vaso de leche”
committees to the human settlements of Paramonga, benefiting more than 1000
people among children, old men, pregnant and suckling mothers (AIPSAA,
2011c).
In order to improve the educational quality, AIPSAA develop the program
“Construyendo Escuelas Exitosas” or “Building successful schools”, executed
through the Peruvian Institute of Business Administration (IPAE). This program
allows the students in a period of five years, to improve their abilities related with
the reading compression, logical reasoning, communicative skills, social skills
and the autonomous learning. With an investment of S/. 1 500 000 Soles, it
benefits 23 educational institutions of rural and urban of Paramonga and Pativilca,
constituted by 1 909 students, 87 teachers and 23 directors.
As part of its contribution to improve the quality of life of people on its area of
influence, AIPSAA develops oral health campaigns, doing diagnoses and
teaching pertinent practices for hygiene and dental maintenance.
As it can be observed, the project generates additional resources to the company
in a completely different category than the conventional for a sugar mill
(generation of electric power), which allows diversifying the production and
guarantees the permanence of company in the zone, offering employment stability
to 1 400 people that labor in the different productive stages. Collaterally, there is
generated greater economic activity in the area and are destined investment funds
in projects of social good.
