Of the 223 projects registered in the CDM Project Portfolio of FONAM, 171
correspond to the energy sector, which would generate a level of emissions
reduction valued in 26 180 875 tCO 2 per year, needing for their implementation a
total investment of 12 091 million dollars. From that portfolio, 75 are
hydroelectric and also there have been identified 34 projects with unconventional
renewable energies sources, which would generate emissions reduction of 2 890
tCO 2 per year with an investment of 1 490 million dollars. See Chart Nº 11.

According to what we indicated previously, the tha majority of projects of the
CDM portfolio correspond to the electricity sector with renewable technologies
like wind farms, photovoltaic systems and Hydroelectric Power Stations, it means
that CDM projects based on renewable energies have a great potential of
development in the country.
It is important to stand out than the CDM Projects Portfolio that is currently
managed, is the result of actions taken for the promotion, implementation and
development of projects, which has enabled setting Peru in the 6 th place of the
raking of the most attractive countries for the CDM Market (FONAM, 2011), as it
is shown it the Chart Nº 12.
