Greg Sanders is a senior technical manager for Chapin Hall at the University<br />

of Chicago. He served as information architect for the Chicago<br />

Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) from 2002 to 2013. He was<br />

technical lead for CMAP’s online data systems, including the MetroPulse<br />

applications. He cofounded the Illinois <strong>Data</strong> Exchange Affiliates datasharing<br />

coalition in 2006 and the Full Circle community mapping and<br />

planning project in 2004. Sanders was previously information technology<br />

director for the Cleveland Housing Network and senior programmer–<br />

analyst for Penske Logistics. He has managed federal Technology Opportunities<br />

Program grants in both Cleveland and Chicago. Sanders holds<br />

a BA in political science from Oberlin College and a master’s degree in<br />

mass communications from Kent State University.<br />

Jacob Wascalus is a writer and analyst for the Community Development<br />

Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He writes about<br />

topics ranging from workforce development and neighborhood stabilization<br />

to suburban poverty and the housing market. He also works <strong>with</strong><br />

colleges and neighborhood groups in designing their own data-oriented<br />

community development projects. Wascalus holds a master’s degree in<br />

urban and regional planning from the University of Minnesota’s Hubert<br />

H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in English<br />

literature from James Madison University.
