<strong>for</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong><br />

<strong>Stress</strong> <strong>Tests</strong><br />

Another source <strong>for</strong> Danube River level monitoring are the daily reports received<br />

electronically from the Agency <strong>for</strong> exploration and maintenance <strong>of</strong> the Danube River in the town <strong>of</strong><br />

Ruse.<br />

3.2.3.1.4 Underground waters monitoring<br />

<strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong> site region underground water level monitoring is per<strong>for</strong>med the so-called<br />

piezometers specially built <strong>for</strong> tube wells. All piezometers are benchmarked and related with<br />

<strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong> coordinate system.<br />

Through monthly monitoring <strong>of</strong> the location <strong>of</strong> piezometric line indirect monitoring <strong>of</strong><br />

condition <strong>of</strong> the lining and the joints <strong>of</strong> dual channel, spray pools, underground water lines is also<br />

per<strong>for</strong>med.<br />

3.2.3.2 Emergency procedures<br />

The actions at flooding or accidents caused by flooding are specified in the following<br />

documents <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong>:<br />

· Emergency plan <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong>, [28];<br />

· Emergency action plan <strong>for</strong> accident situations by the existing ХТС <strong>for</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong><br />

<strong>NPP</strong> service water supply, [127];<br />

· Instruction <strong>for</strong> operation, monitoring and control <strong>of</strong> ХТС buildings <strong>for</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong><br />

<strong>NPP</strong> service water supply, [131];<br />

· Instruction <strong>for</strong> starting <strong>of</strong> announciation process by <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong> announciation<br />

system, [132];<br />

· Action plan <strong>of</strong> “Autotransport” department at emergency situation in <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong>,<br />

[133];<br />

· Plan <strong>for</strong> medical support at accident in <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong>;<br />

· External emergency plant <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong> [75].<br />

3.2.4 Potential impact from outside the plant, including prevention or blocking <strong>of</strong> personnel<br />

and equipment access to the site<br />

3.2.4.1 Potential impacts on the adjacent facilities in the lowland at MWL<br />

The lowland is divided from the hydro-technical channels <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong> into three<br />

zones. The most western zone is limited to the east from hot channel-2, to the south from <strong>Kozloduy</strong><br />

<strong>NPP</strong> and to the west reaches and enters the town <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong>. The medium zone is limited from hot<br />

channel-2, <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong> and the dual channel. The eastern zone is limited from the dual channel<br />

and the bed <strong>of</strong> Ogosta River. Below the flooding <strong>of</strong> the lowland situated between <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong><br />

site and Danube River is considered separately <strong>for</strong> the three different zones in order to demonstrate<br />

indirect impact <strong>of</strong> such flooding that may influence on the plant operation.<br />
