SUMMARY REPORT
for Conduct of Kozloduy NPP
Stress Tests
The SFP heat removal system is two-channel. To ensure the system normal operation it is
required to maintain operable at least 2 (out of 3) heat exchangers and 1 (out of 2) pumps.
1.4.2.2.3 Heat removal systems AC power supply
The pump sets on the SFP cooling system are category 1 loads and their power supply is
ensured from two-transformer substation, which is in turn powered at blackout from backup diesel
generator.
1.4.2.2.4 Alternative cooling logics and equipment
Alternative ultimate heat sink is the atmosphere at closed cooling system, through the spray
pools by means of essential components service water supply system of Unit 4. Connection is
provided fro emergency cooling water supply from Danube River through fire protection pump
station -2.
1.4.2.3 System for Collection and Return of Water Leakages from the Fuel Storage Pool
It is used for collection and control of the leakages from the inter-lining area of the SFP,
overflows of the compartments for storage of the SNF, intake compartment, compartment for
reloading of the fuel assemblies, transfer corridor and from the drainage collector of the sensors of
the I&C in the SFS; return of the leakages to the SNF compartment or supply to the active water
sewage.
1.4.2.4 Active sewage system
Active sewage and drain water system is designed to collect, store and supply drain waters
from SFS to auxiliary building 2 for processing.
1.4.2.5 Ventilation System
The system is designed to maintain normal climate for operation of the equipment, to prevent
from spreading of radioactive contaminations, as well as to maintain air contamination with radio
nuclides within permissible limits according to the attending personnel work safety standards.
1.4.2.6 Radiation Monitoring System
The SFS radiation monitoring system is designed for control of the main radiation
parameters typical for the operation of the storage facility in all modes of operation including the
design based accidents.
1.4.2.7 AC power supply
1.4.2.7.1 Auxiliary power supply distribution
