SUMMARY REPORT<br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong><br />

<strong>Stress</strong> <strong>Tests</strong><br />

sites <strong>of</strong> Electric production 1 and Electric production 2 (per one); two <strong>of</strong> the MSs are located<br />

at <strong>NPP</strong> area, and the remaining – in PPMA (within the radius <strong>of</strong> 1.8 km <strong>of</strong> the <strong>NPP</strong>, at 45º<br />

from each) other;<br />

· 5 water stations (WS), which measure specific bulk activity <strong>of</strong> waste and debalanced<br />

water.<br />

The system is integrated with National automated system <strong>for</strong> uninterrupted monitoring <strong>of</strong><br />

radiation gamma background <strong>of</strong> Ministry on Environment and Water (ME&W), by which<br />

conditions are ensured <strong>for</strong> early annunciation in case <strong>of</strong> radiation accident. This in<strong>for</strong>mation can be<br />

monitored also in AMC.<br />

4. Automated in<strong>for</strong>mation system <strong>for</strong> radiation monitoring <strong>of</strong> the industrial site:<br />

Automated in<strong>for</strong>mation system <strong>for</strong> radiation monitoring <strong>of</strong> the industrial site (AIS RMIS)<br />

provides <strong>for</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation on level <strong>of</strong> gamma background in fourteen (14) points at the site <strong>of</strong><br />

«<strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong>» plc. This in<strong>for</strong>mation can be monitored also in AMC.<br />

5. System <strong>for</strong> meteorological monitoring:<br />

The system <strong>for</strong> meteorological monitoring (SMM) ensures representative <strong>for</strong> the region <strong>of</strong><br />

«<strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong>» plc meteorological in<strong>for</strong>mation, required to prepare <strong>of</strong> broadcasts on radioactive<br />

transfers and dose rate loads in areas <strong>of</strong> Emergency Planning.<br />

Automatic System <strong>for</strong> aerological observations (ASAO) allows <strong>for</strong> definition <strong>of</strong> speed and<br />

direction <strong>of</strong> main transfer and height <strong>of</strong> mixing layer <strong>for</strong> area <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong>.<br />

ASAO System is integrated with the system <strong>of</strong> meteorological monitoring (SMM). Data<br />

from ASAO system is provided by national institutions.<br />

These systems ensure uninterrupted monitoring as well as processing and archiving <strong>of</strong> data.<br />

Their operating stations are located in central radiation monitoring room (CRMR) in Electric<br />

production 2 where conditions are created <strong>for</strong> work in case <strong>of</strong> radiation accident. In<strong>for</strong>mation from<br />

the AIS OSRM, AIS RMIS and SMM is also displayed in the AMC.<br />

6. Monitoring <strong>of</strong> environment and the <strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong> site:<br />

At the site <strong>of</strong> the «<strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong>» plc and in areas <strong>of</strong> preventive and urgent protection<br />

measures (PPMA and UPMA), field measurements are done by means <strong>of</strong>:<br />

· three <strong>of</strong>f-road vehicles;<br />

· mobile laboratory.<br />

Laboratory analysis <strong>of</strong> samples from environmental and from the site <strong>of</strong> «<strong>Kozloduy</strong> <strong>NPP</strong>»<br />

plc is per<strong>for</strong>med in laboratories <strong>of</strong> “Radio environmental Monitoring” department. Preliminary<br />

processing <strong>of</strong> the samples, radiochemical isolation are per<strong>for</strong>med there, as well as concentrated and<br />

consequent radiometric and spectrometric measurements in accordance with existing methods <strong>of</strong><br />

analysis. This in<strong>for</strong>mation can be monitored also in AMC.<br />

7. In<strong>for</strong>mation system <strong>of</strong> the AMC:<br />
