influenced by sampling, underreporting of female births or abortion<br />

(Zeng et al., 1993; Gao, 1993) is not clear and would require further<br />

study to ascertain.<br />

In sum, migrants’ attitudes and behaviour towards childbearing<br />

after migration still exhibit son preference.<br />
