inSync 5.2 Private Cloud – Administrator’s Guide Deleting a User Deleting a user has the following effects: The user's license to use inSync is revoked. The user cannot backup or share data using inSync. The data backed up from the user's devices are deleted from the storage. On the user's devices, the shared folder inside the inSync Share folder are deleted. To delete a user: 1. From the Manage menu, select Users. The Manage Users page is displayed. 2. Select the user that you want to delete and click Delete. A message requesting for confirmation appears. 3. Click Yes. The user is deleted from inSync. 134
inSync 5.2 Private Cloud – Administrator’s Guide Resetting Password for a User You can reset the inSync account password for users. This is helpful when the users have forgotten their password and is unable to activate the inSync Client on their devices or log on to the inSync Web client. To reset the password for users: 1. From the Manage menu, click Users. The Manage Users page is displayed. 2. Select the users for whom you want to reset the password. 3. On the More button click Reset Password. The Reset Password window appears. 4. Modify the subject and body of the email as required. Be sure to include the required variables in the email body: %USER% - The name of the user %SERVERS% - The URL of the inSync Server to which the inSync Client must connect. %MAIL% - The email ID required by the user to log on to inSync. %PASSWORD% - The password required by the user to log on to inSync. 5. Click Reset Password. A message asking for confirmation appears. 6. Click Yes. An email is sent to the user with the new password. 135
