Understanding inSync
Druva inSync is an enterprise level backup solution that helps you to backup, restore, protect, and
share your organization's data. inSync has the following features:
Endpoint Backup: Using inSync, you can backup data from various endpoints like laptops,
desktops, smartphones, and tablets. The backup process consumes very little bandwidth and
resources, and is completely non-intrusive. Users can access their backed up data any time
and from anywhere.
File Sharing and Collaboration: Using inSync, users in your organization can easily share files
and collaborate with each other in a secure way. As inSync administrator, you will have
visibility into all shared data.
Data Loss Protection: Using the inSync Data Loss Protection (DLP) feature of inSync, you can
encrypt data residing on various endpoints. You can also track the location of devices and
remotely delete sensitive data on lost or stolen devices.
Data Analytics: inSync provides you tools to analyze and identify usage trends, search for
files, and set up alerts to deal with various issues.
inSync follows the client-server architecture. The inSync Server setup is responsible for storing data
backed up from various endpoints. The inSync Client component has to be installed on all endpoints
that you want to backup and protect using inSync. The inSync Client will periodically backup data to
the inSync Server over LAN or WAN. The inSync Client also enables uses to share files and collaborate
with each other in a secure way.
