conscription <strong>of</strong> children under the age <strong>of</strong> 15 years <strong>in</strong>to armed forces,<br />

pillage, and attacks on peace keepers. These fall with<strong>in</strong> crimes aga<strong>in</strong>st<br />

humanity and war crimes <strong>in</strong> which the court has developed its peculiar<br />

jurisprudence.<br />

Furthermore, the court has developed the law on the crim<strong>in</strong>al<br />

responsibility <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>dividuals who commit <strong>in</strong>ternational crimes: <strong>in</strong>dividual<br />

crim<strong>in</strong>al responsibility; command responsibility and superior<br />

responsibility. All persons convicted by the court were charged under these<br />

forms <strong>of</strong> crim<strong>in</strong>al responsibility. It is <strong>in</strong> the above and other aspects that the<br />

SCSL will be remembered as well as the role it played <strong>in</strong> render<strong>in</strong>g justice<br />

to the victims <strong>of</strong> the brutal armed conflict <strong>in</strong> Sierra Leone. The<br />

jurisprudence <strong>of</strong> the SCSL will certa<strong>in</strong>ly be helpful to <strong>in</strong>ternational courts<br />

deal<strong>in</strong>g with <strong>in</strong>ternational crimes <strong>in</strong> <strong>Africa</strong> and other parts <strong>of</strong> the world.
