Rear Connected SwitchboardsType RCSSiemens RCS switchboards differ fromthe front connected (Type SB1, SB2,SB3) design primarily in the distributionsections. In the distribution section thebranch feeders are individually mounted.Because of this method of mounting,access to the outgoing cable terminalsmust be from the rear of the unit. Busbar extensions from the feeder devicesare run to the rear of the RCS sectionstopping before the conduit area foreasy access and cable connection.An optional cable management systemcan be requested to secure the outgoingcables. The front and rear of all sectionsalign and are designed for mountingaway from the wall. RCS switchboardwill accommodate requirements up to6000 ampere and 600 volts. The mainbus can be specified for 400 to 6000ampere rating. Main, tie and branchdevices are available in amperage ratingsup to 6000 amps. RCS switchboards canbe indoor (NEMA 1) or outdoor (NEMA3R) construction.GeneralRCS switch boards utilize Type WLinsulated case and/or low voltage powercircuit breakers with drawout mountings.Features and benefits include highbreaker density, 100kA standard shortcircuit bus bracing and three levels ofhorizontal bus.
