8.22 Test to Establish Perfectibility/portability of workSpecimen of pipe shall be tested to establish the suitability for use in carryingportable water(i) Smell of the extract(ii) Clarity of the colour of the extract(iii) Acidity <strong>and</strong> Alkality(iv) Global migration UV absorbing material Heavy metals(v) Unreacted monomers (styrens) <strong>and</strong> biological tests8.23 Hydraulic TestAfter laying the pipe hydraulic test shall be done to conform the quality of work<strong>and</strong> material. There shall not be any signs of localized swelling, leakage orweeping. It should conform to IS : 4984 & IS 7634.8.24 MeasurementThe net length of fixed pipe shall be measured in running meters correct to acm. The portion of the pipe inside the joints shell not be included in the lengthof pipe work. Specials shall be excluded <strong>and</strong> measured <strong>and</strong> paid separatelyunder the relevant item.8.25 RatesThe rate shall include the cast of the material <strong>and</strong> labour involve in all theoperation describe in the item.8.26 MDPE Pipes & Specials8.26.1 Scope8.26.1.1 This specification covers the requirements for successfully designing,manufacturing, supplying, laying, jointing <strong>and</strong> testing at works <strong>and</strong> site ofMedium Density Polyethylene Pipes used for water supply upto 50mm diapipes.8.26.2 Applicable Codes8.26.2.1 The manufacturing, testing, supplying, laying, jointing <strong>and</strong> testing at work sitesof MDPE pipes shall comply with all currently applicable statutes, regulations,st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> Codes. In particulars, the following st<strong>and</strong>ards, unless otherwisespecified herein, shall be referred. In all cases the latest revision of the Codesshall be referred to.
