7.7 Galvanized mild steel pipes7.7.1 The pipes (tubes) shall be galvanized mild steel hot finished seamless (HFS) orwelded (ERW) HRIW or HFW screwed <strong>and</strong> socketed conforming to therequirements of IS 1239 <strong>Part</strong>-1 for light, medium & heavy grade. They shall beof the diameter (nominal bore) specified in the description of the item, thesockets shall be designated by the respective nominal bores of the pipes forwhich they are intended.7.7.2 Galvanizing shall conform to IS 4736 : The zinc coating shall be uniformadherent, reasonably smooth <strong>and</strong> free from such imperfections as flux, ash <strong>and</strong>dross inclusions, bare batches, black spots, pimples, lumping runs, rust stainsbulky white deposits <strong>and</strong> blisters. The pipes <strong>and</strong> sockets shall be cleanlyfinished, well galvanized in <strong>and</strong> out <strong>and</strong> free from cracks, surfaces flaws,laminations <strong>and</strong> other defects.
