4.10.1.7 For high pressure mains, requiring working pressure greater than 2.4 MPa,suitable flexible joint may be preferred where the joint is restrained against axialmovement.4.10.1.8 Push-on-joint fittings are normally not used for sizes above DN 1600.4.11 Rubber GasketsThe material of rubber gaskets for use with mechanical joints and push-on-jointsshall conform to IS: 5382. Unless otherwise agreed between the manufacturerand the purchaser. Dimensions of the rubber gasket shall be as per4.12 Anchoring of the pipeline:Thrust block shall be provided at each bend, tee, taper, end piece to preventundue movements of the pipeline under pressure. They shall be constructed asper design of engineer-in-charge according to the highest pressure duringoperation or testing of the pipes, the safe bearing pressure of the surrounding soiland the friction coefficient of the soil.4.13 MeasurementThe net length of pipes as laid or fixed should be measured in running meterscorrect to a cm. specials should be excluded and enumerated and paidseparately.
