will persist to others as permanent reminders of the attacks on their families, communities and surroundings. While not wishing to devalue in any way thetraumatic effects of the war on Israeli civilians, these pale in comparison with theconsequences of the massive destruction wreaked on Gaza. The damage causedto the Gazan people’s sense of security and trust, as described to the membersof this FFM by residents of the Gaza Strip, is likely to erode inter-generationalrelationships and social solidarity, with deep and long-lasting destabilizing effecton the community - despite its great resilience (expressed frequently to the FFMteams as sumoud). The further fact that many of those displaced and otherwiseaffected in this war were already traumatised (as refugees, wounded, disabledand bereaved) from previous rounds in this decades-long conflict compelsthe stark recognition of how necessary it is to bring about an immediate andpermanent resolution. The FFM believes that the prima facie evidence it has collected and presented inthis Report should be used for the purposes of legal determination of violationsof international human rights and humanitarian law, whether through local orinternational justice mechanisms. For this purpose it is willing to assist andprovide evidence to any credible investigation established for this purpose. In the absence of political will to resolve the underlying causes of this conflict, it islikely that the residents of Gaza - and those of Israel and of the other parts of theoccupied Palestinian territory - can expect to see future repetitions and escalationsof the war of 2014. In such a scenario, the campaign for accountability, of which thisfact-finding mission is a part, should be seen as a long-term quest, of historic as wellas current importance. The FFM experts can be contacted via PHR-Israel atffm@phr.org.il or +972 3 5133100.Oifa and Momem Alouh, the only daughter and son remaining of Mustafa Alouh, isseen injured following an Israeli airtrike during the last Israeli offensive,in Deir al-Balah city, September 16, 2014.
