The line isunrolled from the barrel on its way through the air and its explosive loads arethen detonated, clearing landmines and opening a corridor for the troops. TzefaShirion was used by Israel in residential built-up areas in the 2006 Lebanon Warand also on 4 occasions in the 2008-9 attacks on Gaza - causing destruction ofentire streets and neighbourhoods. 27 It is unclear to the FFM teams how manytimes this indiscriminate device was used in residential areas during the currentattacks, in addition to its apparent use in Khuza’a.• During the first FFM team’s visit to Gaza the term ‘explosive barrel’ wasalso used by some witnesses to describe bombs dropped by F16 aircraft. 28The question of ‘explosive barrels’ dropped from aircraft requires furtherexamination by military experts.• The second FFM team visited and interviewed the Abu ‘Ilba family in SheikhRadwan Neighbourhood in Gaza City. 29 Many houses in this neighbourhoodbelong to the Abu ‘Ilba family, who were neighbours of the Al-Dalou family home,which, according to Israeli media, was targeted on the night between 19 and20 August 2014 with the intention of assassinating Muhammad Deif, a Hamasmilitant who was believed to be staying there at the time. 30 The attack, whichkilled Deif’s wife and son, targeted the 3-story building, and reportedly involved 5missiles and additional heavy explosives.
