2.1 Al TuffahNo warning was given to evacuate the building but,twenty days after the attack, the patient’s unclereceived a telephone call saying that his housewas going to be destroyed and that he shouldevacuate; however, three of the buildings werealready reduced to rubble in the first attack and theother two buildings belonging to the family werecompletely uninhabitable.Others killed/injured in same event: 20 people werekilled in the incident. More than 50 people wereinjured in this attack.At the moment of the attack, there were 17 peoplein the house, including children. All, apart from thepatient, were killed:• The uncle (scalped)• Two cousins, who were married to one another,as well as their 18-month-old daughter• Five women of the family (aunts and femalecousins), including the wife of one of thecousins in her 6th month of pregnancy. Thepatient stated that the bodies of the womenwere found in pieces, and only some parts ofthem could be recognized by the family (thehand of the aunt, with the wedding ring and theheel of the foot from one of the babies)• Several children, among them 8 and 10 years old,also died: the children’s bodies were found fatallyinjured, with wounds and amputations. He alsoremarked that the bodies were ‘swollen’.In the building in front of the uncle’s house wasanother group of family members. Some youngmen, mainly cousins, were praying, lined up withtheir backs to the window, when the blast shatteredthe wall and the rubble hit them. The aunt of theinterviewee (sister of his mother) was killed by theexplosion, as well as 2 cousins-for a total of 20people who died during this attack.Six more men suffered injuries, mainly in the head,neck, shoulders and back. All of them suffered thesame type of injuries, since the wall came uponthem while they were praying in the same position.There is video of one of the uncles injured byshrapnel, and one of the cousins, wounded in thehead and neck, who makes the profession of faith2.
