WESTERN NATIONAL MUTUAL INSURANCEDWELLING PROPERTY PROGRAMEXCEPTION PAGESThe following rule is added to the Dwelling PolicyProgram exception pages.Employee DiscountRule 514.Woodburning Stove – SurchargeA discount of 10% will be applied to the total policypremium for each policy written in the name of a personwho is:A Woodburning Stove Questionnaire and a photo of theunit are required. These must be submitted “unbound”to Western National for underwriting consideration.The surcharge will apply to a woodburning device usedfor the supplemental heating of an owner occupieddwelling. A fireplace used for occasional heating ofone room or ornamental usage does not apply to thissurcharge.If the woodburning device is acceptable after underwritingconsideration, the premium for the owner occupieddwelling will be increased by a $25 surcharge.NOT ACCEPTABLE$ No woodburning appliance in dwellings rented toothers$ No fireplace inserts$ No more than one heating appliance in the samechimney$ No wood and gas multiple venting or wood/gascombination units$ No wood add on units vented into the cold air return$ No waste heat circulators, heat reclaimers, or heatextractors$ No TOTAL wood heat$ No HOMEMADE woodburning stoves$ No multiple venting - two separate appliances intoone chimneyNo woodburning appliance in any garage or garagetypeoutbuildingDO NOT BIND • Employed by Western National for a period of atleast 90 days and works 20 hours or more aREFER TO COMPANY BEFORE COVERAGE ISweek;BOUND • Formally retired from Western National in accordancewith company retirement eligibilitystandards;• A Western National board member (immediatelyat the time of their confirmation); or• A retired Western National board member with atleast 6 years of service.WN-DP-E-3 4-1-2010Includes copyrighted material with the permission of Insurance Services Office, Inc.
