We are pursuing "quality" homeowner risks that represent a lower thanaverage loss exposure. We will look for insureds that display the characteristics of honesty, <strong>and</strong>stability in their employment <strong>and</strong> living habits. They have a conscientious attitude towards safety.Their home will reflect an obvious pride of ownership through proper maintenance <strong>and</strong> goodhousekeeping.<strong>Western</strong> <strong>National</strong> currently offers two programs for homeowner coverages:• Preferred Homeowner Program – New <strong>and</strong> Updated homes less than 30 years old in protectedlocations.• St<strong>and</strong>ard Homeowner Program – Excellent homes of any age located in protected, partiallyprotected or unprotected locations.Helpful Hints:Completed ApplicationsPlease make sure every question is answered <strong>and</strong> is dated, <strong>and</strong> signed by the applicant <strong>and</strong> theagent. Signed application is to be retained in the agency.Field Underwriting<strong>Western</strong> <strong>National</strong> strongly recommends the producer physically visit the premises to be insured (if atall possible). Identify all the exposures that may increase the possibility of a property or liability loss.Consider the overall maintenance of the structure(s), housekeeping, roof condition, <strong>and</strong> otherpotential hazards.Photo RequiredA photo is required on every homeowner application. Obtain at least two photos of the property(front <strong>and</strong> rear). Photos of all structures on the premises should be submitted for review.General ConstructionUnique construction such as log, dome, earth sheltered, etc. are not eligible. Homes with a stucco orEIFS finish, built after 1980 are not eligible. Foundations must be enclosed. Concrete blockfoundations or dwelling over pilings are not eligible.OccupancyOne or Two Family, owner occupied only. Homes must be occupied year round to qualify.
