Web team recruited andstrong links with WP19 established.147 Design of new website with new functionality and transfer of information.The new website was designed to allow targeting of specific audiences (scientists, general public, clinicians and educational)and content prepared appropriately for these groups. The web team is in regular contact with <strong>EURASNET</strong> scientists forinformation gathering allowing efficient posting of news, highlights, meetings etc. Transfer of selected information from theoriginal website has been accomplished. The web team are very active in posting information on <strong>EURASNET</strong> meetings andworkshops rapidly on the website, preparing regular news items and requesting information from members.148 Database of substances that change alternative splicing.A list of chemicals which alter alternative splice site selection has been posted with relevant publications.149 Liaise with targeted audiences and prepare appropriate content.The web team continue to liaise with appropriate <strong>EURASNET</strong> members (e.g those involved in studying particular diseases,clinicians and those involved in gene therapy) to design content for specific groups. A great deal of new content (e.g.alternative splicing and disease; gene therapy approaches) has been prepared.150 Tools and resources repository updated.The members-only area is being overhauled and the content in terms of tools and resources is being revamped.<strong>Report</strong>In the 2007 Review <strong>Report</strong>, Philip Avner pointed out the need for the <strong>EURASNET</strong> website to better reflect the“dynamicism and quality of the NoE”. In months 25-36, the website has been significantly improved.Towards the end of 2007 the management, hosting and running of the <strong>EURASNET</strong> website (WP1) moved toGroup 14 (Brown) following the move of the Stamm Group to the USA. At the same time, the strategic decisionwas made to forge much closer interactions between WP1 and the other Dissemination WPs (WP19 “PublicUnderstanding of Science” and WP21 “Reachout to the Broader RNA Community”) as the website is the centralplatform for dissemination of information about <strong>EURASNET</strong> and alternative splicing. The three WPs weretherefore managed by Group 14 (Brown) and Group 11 (Barta) and implemented more efficiently through24
