Minutes of the General Assembly decisions during the Krakow <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong>ing <strong>2008</strong>34 of the network's 40 principal investigators were present in Krakow. PIs not present sent a member of theirlab. 6 of the 7 SAB members present.1. Member Giuseppe Biamonti was assigned the task to look into possible meeting venues in Italy for the 2009<strong>Annual</strong> Meeting.2. Member Chris Smith presented an update on the microarray initiative and was authorized to finalize contractnegotiations with Affymetrix.3. The network used the opportunity to collect commitments for workshops and IFM in <strong>2008</strong> and 2009. MemberJean Beggs will keep track of them and incorporate them into the <strong>2008</strong> report.4. Following this year's comments by reviewer Philip Avner and taking into consideration recommendationsexpressed by SAB the network discusses the possibility to organize a mouse related workshop in conjunctionwith the 2009 <strong>Annual</strong> Meeting.5. It was agreed upon to organize a <strong>EURASNET</strong> member meeting and SAB meeting during the upcomingRNA<strong>2008</strong> Conference in Berlin.6. Members agreed to "real time" reporting on IFMs and workshops.Formal changes in the networkParticipant 3 (S. Stamm University Erlangen, Germany) leaves the <strong>EURASNET</strong> NoE because of his relocationto the US. His web-related duties have already been transferred to member John Brown (participant 14, SCRIDundee, UK) in 2007 as reported in our 2007 <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong>. The remaining research tasks of Participant 3 aretaken over to 100% by the remaining network members. An amendment request of Annex I in its currently validform (amendment no. 5 , Dec. 11, <strong>2008</strong>) is submitted together with the <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2008</strong>. The research fundsfor Stefan Stamm remain under the control of the coordinator and will be distributed for tasks previouslyassigned to St. Stamm following case by case decisions. Stefan Stamm retains the status of a <strong>EURASNET</strong>associate. St. Stamm did not receive payments in <strong>2008</strong> and his <strong>EURASNET</strong> account at the University ofErlangen will be balanced and closed effective Feb 29, <strong>2008</strong>.The new Integrating Deputy Coordinator and lead participant for work package 2 is now John Brown(participant 14).Since <strong>2008</strong> <strong>EURASNET</strong> has two Associate Members:Dr. Jean-Marc Gallo, MRC Centre for Neurodegeneration Research, King's College London, UKDr. Matthew JA Wood, Dep. of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, University of Oxford, Oxford, UKBoth have been invited speakers during <strong>EURASNET</strong> meetings and workshops and made valuable contributionsthrough their medically oriented research focus.92
