Public Science ActivitiesAware as we are of the lack of tradition and structure in scientific communication with the public, theNetwork has decided to devote a significant amount of resources to reverse this trend and provideattractive platforms for exchange of information with society, including a dedicated web-page, round-tablediscussions, workshops, institutional open days, and other initiatives detailed in the JPA.Public Science activities are organized and overseen by Andrea Barta, Vienna. 60,000 € are reserved forpublic science activities over the 5-year period. For the employment of a Public Scientific Officer, locatedin Vienna and reporting directly to Andrea Barta, the amount of 100,000 € is planned for the 5-yearperiod. The workload for the PSO will be significantly higher during the first year of the Network.This should be reflected in a full-time employment during this initial phase and part-time employment forthe time thereafter. The PSO will organize various public science activities as outlined in WP19.
