III., ii. 217, 540, 11 which agrees insize with the Britannia rev. of Med. III., i. 535, 185-6 ;see No. 11.No. 26. James II. The rev. of this medal is Med. III.,1.538, 188, a trial-piece in lead being in Brit. Mus.The only obv. in the collection of dies which fits instyle, size, and bordering, is an unfinished medal ofJames II, Med. III., i. 617, 30, of which a lead impressionis also in Brit. Mus. Sn. unpub. 8 describes thisobv. as " A head of James II, rather old without inscription". M. Y. There are four of the six obv.puncheons, two large, one medium, and one small, inYoung's collection, but I have not ventured to appropriatethem to the respective rev. puncheons, Nos. 1,2, 3, and 4, two of which are large, two small. Allare therefore labelled 27-32. By " struck " Eoettiersevidently means that the dies were made, for he specifiesthat neither obverses nor reverses were coined. Onlythe puncheons are in M. Y.No. 33.
