MISCELLANEA.THE MEDALS OF GIAMBATTISTA CASTALDI.SOME confusion exists in <strong>the</strong> published descriptions <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> medals <strong>of</strong> this man which are attributed to <strong>the</strong> artistwho signs "AN IB" <strong>and</strong> to Galeotto respectively. I havenoted <strong>the</strong> following varieties. <strong>The</strong>y are all cast, <strong>and</strong>, unlesso<strong>the</strong>rwise described, <strong>of</strong> bronze or brass.I. With <strong>the</strong> signature AN IB.1. Obv. Bust <strong>of</strong> Castaldi 1.,with long beard slightly forked,wearing a cuirass, with scroll-ornament on <strong>the</strong>breast.
