Optimization of CESR-c Superferric Wiggler for the International Linear Collider Damping
Rings
We present the results of an optimization of
the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR) superferric
wiggler for the International Linear
Collider (ILC) damping ring. The superferric
CESR wiggler has been shown to have excellent beam dynamics properties in the ILC damping ring. We reduced the
physical size, and hence cost, of the CESR wiggler with minimal degradation of ILC damping ring beam dynamics.
We will provide a description of the optimized superferric wiggler and show the performance of this wiggler in the
ILC baseline damping ring.
Characters of the Electron Cloud in the Positron Damping Ring of the ILC
The build-up of electron cloud in a high in-
L. Wang (SLAC)
tensity ring depends on many parameters:
such as the beam intensity, beam filled pattern,
chamber size and geometry, material of the beam pipe and the magnetic fields. This paper briefly discusses the
characters of electron cloud in the damping ring of the ILC.
(BINP SB RAS)
The 12 MeV energy recovery non-superconducting
linac of the Novosibirsk terahertz
FEL was put into operation in 2003. The efficiency
of energy recovery was studied. The
transversal and longitudinal beam halo was
investigated by studying the dependence of the beam dump current on steering corrector strength and RF system
parameters. Ways to increase the energy recovery efficiency are discussed.
