Single Beam Dynamics in XFEL Linac<br />

The single bunch emittance preservation in<br />

booster and main linacs of European XFEL<br />

project is presented. The wakefield and chromatic<br />

dilution of the beam emittance caused<br />

by free betatron oscillations, cavity and modules offset misalignments and random tilts are evaluated. The effects<br />

of cavities misalignments correlation along the linac are discussed. The effects of quadrupole misalignments and<br />

the corresponding trajectory steering based on one-to-one correction technique are given. The residual chromatic<br />

emittance dilution of the corrected trajectory is evaluated.<br />

Beam Life Time Dependence on the Vacuum Rate<br />

The dependence of the beam life time period<br />

on the vacuum rate in accelerating camera M.K. Khojoyan (YerPhI)<br />

of Yerevan synchrotron is investigated. The<br />

received results are based on the measurements having been completed when the synchrotron accelerating stations<br />

weren’t been acting (betatron regime). Some analytical considerations of the beam behavior (emittance and other<br />

characteristics) are completed using MATLAB code and are coinciding with the measurements.<br />

efficiency and lifetime of the stored electron beam. Measurements of the multipole content of the quadrupoles and<br />

sextupoles have been made and are used in this study to determine the effect on the dynamic aperture (DA) using<br />

Frequency Map Analysis (FMA) techniques. Misalignments and closed orbit correction schemes using correctors<br />

built into the sextupoles will also be evaluated. Insertion Devices (IDs) are simulated using kick maps generated from<br />

RADIA.<br />

Transverse Linear Coupling Compensation in the LNLS Storage Ring<br />

The Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory<br />

(LNLS) has recently started filling its storage X.R. Resende, M.D. Cervantes, L. Liu, P.F. Tavares (LNLS)<br />

ring straight sections with insertion devices.<br />

Last year a 2-Tesla Wiggler was successfully installed and integrated in the control system. An elliptically polarizing<br />

undulator is now under construction and scheduled to be installed in the next shutdown, by the end of the current year.<br />
