Dynamics of an Electron in the Field of the Stationary Plane Light Wave
In the paper the solution of the Lorentz equa-
tion for an electron in the field of the stationary
linear polarized stationary light wave is
presented. The stationary wave is considered as a sum of two running in opposite direction waves. Two projections of
Lorentz equations on coordinate axes can be integrated once. It allows to reduce the task to resolution of a nonlinear
equation of the second order for coordinate axis which coincides with direction of propagation of the interacting wave.
For approximate integration of the second order equation expansion on two small parameters has been used. In the
report the results of calculation of an electron velocity and coordinate as a parametric function of time are presented.
It is shown that at interaction of an electron with a stationary wave electron motion is excited. The excitation has a
beating character. Amplitudes and phase of the beating are calculated.
3D Magnetic Field Effects in a NSC KIPT Compact Intense X-ray Generator
The new generation of the intense X-ray
sources based on low energy electron storage
ring and Compton scattering of intense
laser beam allows to produce hard X-rays with intensity up to 1012 phot/s. One of the main traits of a storage ring
lattice for such generator type is using of magnetic elements with combined focusing functions such as bending
magnets with quadrupole and sextupole field components. In combination with very low bending radius and dense
magnetic elements setting along ring circumference it leads to increasing of 3D magnetic field effects on electron beam
dynamics and can decrease generated radiation intensity drastically. The article is devoted to the investigations of
the effects of 3D magnetic fields on bending magnet edges and lattice lenses interference on electron beam dynamics
and parameters of produced radiation for NSC KIPT 225 MeV storage ring NESTOR.
Application of the Lie-transform Perturbation Theory for the TBT Data Analysis
Harmonic analysis of turn-by-turn BPM data
Y. Alexahin (Fermilab)
is a rich source of information on linear and
nonlinear optics in circular machines. In the
present report the normal form approach first introduced by R. Bartolini and F. Schmidt is extended on the basis of
the Lie-transform perturbation theory to provide direct relation between the sources of perturbation and observable
spectra of betatron oscillations. The goal is to localize strong perturbing elements, find the resonance driving terms
- both absolute value and phase - that are necessary for calculation of the required adjustments in correction magnet
circuits: e.g. skew-quadrupoles for linear coupling correction. The theory is nonlinear and permits to analyze higher
order effects, such as coupling contribution to beta-beating and nonlinear sum resonances.
Ion Motion in the Adiabatic Focuser
focusing channel whose strength increases
with distance down the channel. In this situation
electrons of various energies and various transverse oscillation phase all are transversely focused. The concept
