Soil Moist Fines are a powder
type that is an effective water
management aid for the forestry,
landscape and nursery industry.
They are incorporated in slurry
mixes for field planting of bareroot
seedlings. They are also
used as a packing medium
for transporting bare root
seedlings. The slurry reduces the
evaporation of water on the root
structure, thus eliminating
plant loss.
Medium: 1.0 mm to 2.0 mm
Used in all applications with specific preferences on amending new
turf and potting soils. Reduces plant waterings and transplanting
shock. It also increases plant establishment.
Coarse: 2.0 mm to 4.0 mm
Used mainly for planting trees and larger container stock. Like the Soil
Moist Medium, it reduces plant waterings and transplanting shock. It
also increases plant establishment.
Soil Moist is a synthetic,
acrylic-copolymer that stores
over 200 times its weight
in water, releasing a steady
supply of water as your plants
need it. The polymer is nontoxic
and safe to use in all
landscape applications. When
mixed in the soil at root level,
the crystals will soften and
swell as water is added and
absorbed.
Soil Moist acts as a water
reservoir; even during periods
of drought the stored water
is released to the plant.
Expansion and retraction of the
polymer during the watering
cycle helps soil aeration, and helps prevent soil compaction.
Soil Moist polymer granular is a soil amendment designed to
reduce plant waterings by 50%*, reduce transplant shock and
soil compaction, and will remain effective in the soil for up to 3-5
years.* It is an inexpensive form of insurance for the plant and is
environmentally friendly. Soil Moist saves time, labor and plant loss.
