281 The preterite tense of the verb 'to be', when employed<br />

as an auxiliary with transitive verbs, takes the 'suffix pro¬<br />

nouns' as personal ending. Examples py , Cjy > Sy<br />

282. There is a more emphatic form of the preterite, de¬<br />
