351. The negative is formed by substituting the negative<br />

parricle j or \j for the prefix j (bi). Example: ^^ 430j<br />

(ranga na-m-be) 'I may or might not have', etc. The positive<br />

and negative 'dependent forms' are y or ^y and ^ . Ex¬<br />

amples: y JU 4X!j (ranga mal-(i)m be) or^ ^JU -66j<br />

(ranga mal-(i)m ha-be) 'I may or might have a house',<br />

y p>JU 4X;j(ranga mal-(i)m na-be) 'I may or might not<br />

have a house', etc.<br />

352. The prefix a (ha) may be substituted for the prefix<br />

J (bi). Examples: ^_y^ (ha-m-he), yC^ (ha-t-ht),<br />

yy (ha-i-be), etc. ; but the prefix > (bi) is the better form.<br />
