Oral Communication II Playing and the toy library: mind-body integration
Coordination: Luana Carramillo-Going
3062 - Physical Education in the child hospitalization context: Play Project
Lilian Beatriz Schwinn Rodrigues – Brazil ( schwinn@unochapeco.edu.br )
The introduction of corporal practices in the hospital context means
having care and attention to health, in activities that help in the (re)
signification of the health-disease process and its fruition in everyday
life. Ludic and play emerge as the organizing axes of the extension actions
of the Physical Education course at UNOCHAPECÓ, Chapecó,
SC, aiming to the (re)signification of the child timespace during hospitalization,
in oncological or ambulatory treatment. The activities take
place in the toy library of the Chapecó Regional Hospital, with children
and their companions, working on: Knowledge and Corporal Control;
Rhythmic and Expressive Activities; GamesPlay. The activities have
been very encouraging after the subject is seen playing, although being
sick, with the (re)signification of the child hospitalization timespace, valuing
play as time in the constitution of the self.
3057 Social interaction and types of children games during free moments in the toy library
Deise de Oliveira Rezende; Jorge Alberto de Oliveira – Brazil ( deiserezende@usp.br )
This work aimed to identify the social interaction and the types of
playing activities freely chosen by children age 4 in a toy library. 14 children
were filmed during 10 consecutive minutes. Results showed that
the children play most of the time (boys 56.6% and girls 60%). Interaction
was low: with one colleague (boys 23% and girls 34%) and with
two or more colleagues (boys 18% and girls 6%). Conflict and competitivity
were observed during interactions, and so the games became
turbulent. The most frequent play was the symbolic one, with representations
of their fantasies and reality situations.
3055 The importance of neuropsychomotor development in the school environment with the toy library
Daniela Matteis Burckauser Beato – Brazil ( burckbeato@gmail.com )
This work results from three years of experiences in the toy library of the
Poços de Caldas Integral College, attending 135 students from kindergarten
to the fifth year of elementary school. The toy library is coordinated
by a toy librarian trained by the Brazilian Toy Libraries Association.
At the beginning of work, it was interesting that most of the children
forgot how to invent their own games, they did not know which toy to
choose, they could not wait, they fought. The students showed great
improvement in the development, created new ways of playing, have
learned to live socially, to respect rules and colleagues, to wait for their
time and to interact in a more organized way not only in the Toy Library,
but also in their day-to-day activities in school and home.
3053 The trajectory of Playing and Health publications
Vera Maria Barros de Oliveira; Edda Bomtempo – Brazil ( vera.barros.oliveira@terra.com.br )
This research conducts a survey of the scientific production related to Play
and Health in academic and scientific articles, from 1998 to 2007, in its
great diversity. It focuses on three Universities from the state of São Paulo
and, with reference to articles in scientific journals, the search is extended
nationally. Results show a total of 207 studies, with 182 academic productions
and only 25 publications. In relation to academic production: USP
45%, PUC 39% and Methodist 33%. A survey of the knowledge areas that
generated the works demonstrates diversity, which certifies the theoretical
and technical interest that the theme has obtained, with a predominance
of researches from Psychology, Psychopedagogy
and Psychiatry (50%). Results evidence an ascending
trend with reference to Play and its relation to Health, but
show a low number of academic productions, absence of
abstracts and mistakes in the writing of summaries.
