Gas connections
English
SEAL TEST
All the connections between the water supply and the equipment have to be tested for the seal.
It is suggested to use a leak finder spray or, if not available, it is possible to brush the connection points with
proper non corrosive foams.
In both cases no leakages have to be detected (bubbles).
Do not use free flames to test the connections seal!
Combustion gas disposal
The gas oven models can be grouped into three categories on the basis of the method used to dispose of
combustion gases:
A1 type (for ovens with thermal power < 14 kW): exhaust gases can be released into the room in which
the oven is installed.
B11 type (for ovens with thermal power > 14 kW): exhaust gases must be released outside the room
in which the oven is installed, by means of a natural ventilation flue wth proven efficiency. For this type of
installation, make sure that the entire length of the flue has a cross-section which is no smaller than that of the
appliance exhaust pipe attachment. There must be a vertical duct above the ventilation switch; this must be at
least 3 times as long as the diameter of the pipe.
The exhaust system must follow an upward trajectory at a minimum incline of 10%, and must incorporate
no angles smaller than 90 degrees. The horizontal part of the smoke exhaust connection must not exceed
1.5 metres in length. If connection is impossible, use a cooker hood positioned no less than 50 cm away from
the ventilation switch: if positioned too near, it may cause an excessive drop in pressure when the ventilation
switch is activated, which could cause a greater amount of gas to be drawn out from inside the burner; this in
turn could lead to explosions and the production of toxic unburnt gas.
Caution!
We recommend a flue cover is installed on top of the external end of the flue, to prevent rainwater from
getting into the oven and to minimise pressure drops caused by the Venturi effect, which can occur when the
flue is subject to strong outside air currents.
