induites par l‟ABA et la S1P. Cette hypothèse est renforcée par le fait qu‟un certain nombre de gènes connus pour être régulés par l‟ABA sont plus fortement exprimés dans les mutants gcr1. L‟ensemble de ces résultats montre que le mécanisme d‟action de la S1P dans les cellules de garde est complexe et encore loin d‟être totalement élucidé. En effet, l‟augmentation de la [Ca 2+ ] i observée pourrait résulter d‟une action extracellulaire de la S1P via son association avec une protéine non encore identifiée couplée à GPA1. Cependant, elle pourrait aussi résulter d‟une action intracellulaire de la S1P sur un récepteur/canal non encore identifié. Dans ce contexte, il semble particulièrement intéressant d‟étudier le rôle de la S1P dans l‟augmentation de la [Ca 2+ ] i chez les mutants gpa1. Perspectives Les sphingolipides et les produits de leur métabolisme s‟avèrent donc jouer un rôle clé dans la signalisation calcique chez les plantes. Néanmoins, des études sont encore nécessaires pour mieux appréhender leur rôle dans ce processus. Il apparaît ainsi essentiel aujourd‟hui (i) d‟identifier et de caractériser les différentes enzymes impliquées dans le métabolisme de ces composés, telles que la SphK, la SPP et la S1P lyase (ii) de développer des outils pharmacologiques spécifiques permettant d‟étudier le mécanisme d‟action de ces enzymes, et (iii) d‟identifier les cibles de leurs produits. Enfin, d‟autres sphingolipides ayant une activité biologique chez les plantes, tels que la phytosphingosine-1-phosphate qui régule l‟état d‟ouverture des stomates chez A. thaliana au même titre que la S1P (Coursol et al., 2005), pourraient à l‟avenir être également impliqués dans la transduction du signal calcique.
