Unitec wins by the “portable quality”

The inclusion among the winners of the
Fruit Logistica Innovation Award was an
important and impressive result for
Unitec, the Italian company which produces
processing technologies for fruit
and vegetables. The authoritative competition,
which takes place every year
during Fruit Logistica, actually awarded
the third prize to QS_300© tool, a
Unitec’s device for the non-destructive
survey of the inner quality of fruit and
vegetables. “It’s the meaning this prize
brings with it that makes us proud of
the result we got” said Angelo
Benedetti, the president of Unitec. “To
be awarded as an innovative company
by such an authoritative competition, as
Marcos Pincu recieves the prize on
behalf of Unitec.

The novelty of QS_300©, as regards the
previous inner quality produce surveying
systems stands in its handiness together

Thanks to its small size and its

estimate the purchased produce. Data

the display, with no wasting of time.
From the QS_300©, it is possible to
detect the sugar content (in Brix
degrees), the firmness of pulp (kg/cm²),
the tartness (g/l), the ripening degree,
the colour and other parameters on
demand. At present, the QS_300© has
been successfully used on apples,
pears, plums, apricots, peaches, nectarines,
tomatoes, cherries, kiwi
Hayward and kiwi Gold.

needs of breeders, fruit and vegetable

did not only represent a way to show its
