Dagli incentivi ai progetti<br />

Del Piano Industria 4.0 ha parlato Stefano Firpo, direttore<br />

generale per la politica industriale, la competitività<br />

e le piccole e medie imprese del MISE.<br />

“Il Piano prevede incentivi fiscali senza precedenti<br />

per le imprese che investono in ricerca e innovazione:<br />

il governo ha fatto un investimento potenziale<br />

di 20 miliardi di euro. Ora però mancano i progetti<br />

e crediamo molto nel ruolo di stimolo del CFI, che<br />

consideriamo un importante aggregatore nazionale<br />

nel settore”.<br />

over 350 people, provided at first a plenary session,<br />

followed by several scientific-technical thematic<br />

groups, which saw the presence of 50 speakers<br />

from both the production and the academic world.<br />

As pointed out by Gianluigi Viscardi, President of<br />

CFI, “it was the first CFI workshop, intended not<br />

only to raise awareness of the Industry Plan 4.0,<br />

but also to encourage direct contact with some<br />

of the major protagonists of Industry 4.0. The event<br />

marked another important step in the creation of<br />

a national manufacturing community promoted<br />

by the CFI, which, relying on its own efforts, is<br />

supposed to aggregate the most important<br />

stakeholders in the sector”.<br />

From incentives to projects<br />

Stefano Firpo, general director for industrial<br />

policy, competitiveness and SMEs at the Ministry<br />

of Economic Development (MISE), talked about<br />

the Industry 4.0 National Plan. “The Plan provides<br />

unprecedented tax incentives for companies<br />

investing in research and innovation: the<br />

government made a potential investment of 20<br />

billion euro. Now, we are waiting for the projects<br />

and we strongly believe in the role of the CFI, which<br />

we consider an important national aggregator in<br />

this sector”.<br />

The Plan will make the machines interconnected,<br />

both horizontally and vertically, within the factories<br />

as well as towards external suppliers and/or<br />

customers, through the use of the most advanced<br />

technologies available, such as collaborative<br />

robots, sensors or cloud-based management<br />

systems, which are expected to generate not only<br />

technological upgrading but also to change the<br />

way business models are planned.<br />

The role of the Lighthouse Plants<br />

Also due to the current tax incentives, the CFI<br />

aims to go beyond the state of the art. Some ad<br />

hoc projects are being carried out to create the<br />

so-called Lighthouse Plant. These are production<br />

facilities to be designed and built from scratch, or<br />

rather existing plants deeply revisited according<br />

to the Industry 4.0 way, equipped with enabling<br />

technologies for the smart manufacturing, which<br />

are interconnected, intelligent and capable to<br />

communicate with each other. These production<br />

sites will be developed through investments<br />

supported by the 250% hyper-depreciation ensured<br />

by the Industry 4.0 National Plan, and will be<br />

subject to technological change.<br />

“The Lighthouse Plants - said Tullio Tolio, President<br />

of the CFI Scientific Committee - are conceived<br />

as evolving plants that, downstream of the<br />

first phase of installation, will be subject to an<br />

industrial research and innovation project involving<br />

technology providers, system integrators, research<br />
