Dagli incentivi ai progetti
Del Piano Industria 4.0 ha parlato Stefano Firpo, direttore
generale per la politica industriale, la competitività
e le piccole e medie imprese del MISE.
“Il Piano prevede incentivi fiscali senza precedenti
per le imprese che investono in ricerca e innovazione:
il governo ha fatto un investimento potenziale
di 20 miliardi di euro. Ora però mancano i progetti
e crediamo molto nel ruolo di stimolo del CFI, che
consideriamo un importante aggregatore nazionale
nel settore”.

over 350 people, provided at first a plenary session,
followed by several scientific-technical thematic
groups, which saw the presence of 50 speakers
from both the production and the academic world.
As pointed out by Gianluigi Viscardi, President of
CFI, “it was the first CFI workshop, intended not
only to raise awareness of the Industry Plan 4.0,
but also to encourage direct contact with some
of the major protagonists of Industry 4.0. The event
marked another important step in the creation of
a national manufacturing community promoted
by the CFI, which, relying on its own efforts, is
supposed to aggregate the most important
stakeholders in the sector”.
From incentives to projects
Stefano Firpo, general director for industrial
policy, competitiveness and SMEs at the Ministry
of Economic Development (MISE), talked about
the Industry 4.0 National Plan. “The Plan provides
unprecedented tax incentives for companies
investing in research and innovation: the
government made a potential investment of 20
billion euro. Now, we are waiting for the projects
and we strongly believe in the role of the CFI, which
we consider an important national aggregator in
this sector”.
The Plan will make the machines interconnected,
both horizontally and vertically, within the factories
as well as towards external suppliers and/or
customers, through the use of the most advanced
technologies available, such as collaborative
robots, sensors or cloud-based management
systems, which are expected to generate not only
technological upgrading but also to change the
way business models are planned.
The role of the Lighthouse Plants
Also due to the current tax incentives, the CFI
aims to go beyond the state of the art. Some ad
hoc projects are being carried out to create the
so-called Lighthouse Plant. These are production
facilities to be designed and built from scratch, or
rather existing plants deeply revisited according
to the Industry 4.0 way, equipped with enabling
technologies for the smart manufacturing, which
are interconnected, intelligent and capable to
communicate with each other. These production
sites will be developed through investments
supported by the 250% hyper-depreciation ensured
by the Industry 4.0 National Plan, and will be
subject to technological change.
“The Lighthouse Plants - said Tullio Tolio, President
of the CFI Scientific Committee - are conceived
as evolving plants that, downstream of the
first phase of installation, will be subject to an
industrial research and innovation project involving
technology providers, system integrators, research
