presenti in ciascun cassetto nonché inviare allarmi
in caso di raggiungimento di quantitativi sottoscorta
per ogni singolo cassetto. Inoltre, è possibile gestire
la manutenzione predittiva: la cassettiera informa la
manutenzione aziendale o il nostro service quando
è necessario effettuare specifici controlli manutentivi”,
aggiunge Garzisi.
air-bag itself. Working in this field is not easy, as the
objects are not rigid: this makes it difficult to ensure
repeatability”.
Among the other systems manufactured by the
company in the air-bag industry are also the socalled
folder machines, used for folding the pillow
according to the requirements assigned by the
customer. Even in this case, one of the challenging
elements is the fact that the object to be handled
is not rigid. “The customer gives us a project -
continues Mr Vona – with the size of each bend. It
is up to us, then, designing and implementing the
handling engineering in order to meet especially
the dimensional requirements of the pillow once it
has been folded and put inside its shell, or housing”.
As they are actual safety elements, the air-bags
must be produced with a fully traceable process.
This requires specialized expertise in software.
A patented drawer for
Lean manufacturing
Gav Sistemi has recently patented and launched
an innovative product, which is very close to the
principles of Lean manufacturing. It is an automatic
drawer (Alveolus) equipped with a programmable
sequential system for the drawer movement.
This is thought to support the operator engaged
in assembly operations in compliance with the
ergonomics of the workplace, exactly when it is
required, according to a specific preset sequence
and with easy programming.
“The drawer that we designed can be used in the
assembly departments of several sectors: from
automotive to household appliances, up to plastic
moulding and, in general, the whole manufacturing
sector”, explains Claudio Garzisi.
“This product was designed for both integrators and
manufacturers and is available in 5 models, which
differ depending on the number of drawers, the
available space and the size of the components.
We wanted to make the product highly
customizable and easier to use: sure enough, the
onboard software allows to change the production
simply by pressing a button”.
The drawers software developed by Gav Sistemi
also allows users to manage the warehouse, so,
when the machine realizes that the components
are running out in a given tray, it sends information
to both the operator and, remotely, the warehouse
manager and/or supervisor, even if they are
somewhere else.
“To meet this need, our drawer is 4.0-ready, as it
is able to remotely transfer information such as
production development (number of assembled
components or manufactured kits; cycle time),
the amount of components in each tray. It can
also send alarms when a single tray is running out
of components. Besides, it is possible to manage
predictive maintenance: the drawer informs the
company maintenance or our service when it’s
time to schedule specific maintenance checks”,
adds Mr Garzisi.
