“La Costa azzurra, rivista letteraria e artistica illustrata delle stazioni di cura e soggiorno<br />
italiane”, fu fondata da Raffaello Melani, Giuseppe Bottai e Adelmo Damerini. Veniva<br />
pubblicata a Sanremo e fu attiva tra il 1920 e il 1923: tra le presenze il musicologo Adelmo<br />
Damerini, già nelle fila de “La Tempra”, Marino Marini, Giovanni Michelucci, Arturo Stanghellini,<br />
Alberto Caligiani, Alighiero Ciattini, Renato Fondi, Alberto e Francesco Chiappelli.<br />
Vi furono pubblicate le tavole xilografiche fuori testo di Caligiani, Testa di Cristo, e di Michelucci<br />
La portatrice d’acqua (p. 49) (cfr. salvi 2007; salvi 2013, pp. 68-69). Nei due numeri<br />
proposti le copertine esibiscono disegni di Chiappelli e Marini. Il disegno di Marini, definito<br />
‘salgariano’ da Sigfrido Bartolini (bartolini 1978, p. 142), sembra offrire una sorta di riflessione<br />
a posteriori su certe incisioni di Chiappelli come La tartana (p. 51) o Caravelle (salvi<br />
2013, p. 69). Nel numero 5 del febbraio 1921 vengono pubblicati anche: una novella di Arturo<br />
Stanghellini, liriche di Maria Chiappelli e di Raffaello Melani, disegni di Luigi Mazzei.<br />
“La Costa Azzurra, an illustrated literary and artistic reveiw for Italian health and leisure<br />
resorts”, was founded by Raffaello Melani, Giuseppe Bottai, and Adelmo Damerini. It<br />
was published in Sanremo and was active between 1920 and 1923. Contributors included<br />
the musicologist Adelmo Damerini, formerly in the ranks of La Tempra, Marino Marini,<br />
Giovanni Michelucci, Arturo Stanghellini, Alberto Caligiani, Alighiero Ciattini, Renato<br />
Fondi, and Alberto and Francesco Chiappelli. The magazine published woodcuts by Caligiani,<br />
Head of Christ, and Michelucci, The Water Carrier (p. 49) (see salvi 2007; salvi<br />
2013, pp. 68-69). In these two issues, the covers show drawings by Chiappelli and Marini.<br />
Marini’s drawing, described as “Salgari-like” (Emilio Salgari: author of popular swashbuckling<br />
adventure stories) by Sigfrido Bartolini (bartolini 1978), seems to offer a sort<br />
of reworking of woodcuts by Chiappelli such as The Tartana (p. 51) or Caravels (salvi<br />
2013, p. 69). La Costa Azzurra also published, in issue no.5 of February 1921, a novella<br />
by Arturo Stanghellini, poems by Maria Chiappelli and Raffaello Melani, and drawings by<br />
Luigi Mazzei.<br />
