I SPECIAL FEATURE I

I SPECIAL FEATURE I IFA BERLIN 2023 SNEAK PEEK I BSH presents the "Kitchen of the Future" An engaging presentation from BSH during this year's IFA Innovations Media Briefing showcased BSH's vision for the "Kitchen of the Future". Mr Bohn highlighted BSH's roadmap for kitchen appliances, presenting how the company sees “the kitchen connected and individually adapted to consumers," in this way enabling "consumer happiness and customer success". Mr. Bohn guided the audience through a set of facts and figures from a study of over 12 countries in Europe, commissioned by BSH. Perhaps predictably, the washing machine is the most popular smart appliance in Europe. Other encouraging findings from the report include the fact that for 34% of respondents, the next large household appliance should be smart. Sustainability and comfort were identified as the most important features of smart appliances for consumers, while around 40% of respondents said they would pay extra for smart home appliances. Mr. Bohn invited attendees to experience BSH's products at IFA 2023 first-hand, highlighting the new Bosch Green Collection, which launches at IFA this year. When looking at dishwashers, with the new line, 71% of the company's dishwashers will rank A and B in the EU’s green label certification, in contrast to 20% “status quo”, according to BSH. Fridge freezers in the Green Collection are made with eco-friendly materials, green steel, and bio-based plastic, which helps consumers reduce their carbon footprint. Beyond that, the appliances themselves have features that empower consumers to live sustainably, such as a VitaFresh system which apparently extends the shelf life of fruits and vegetables. The unique “No Frost” feature allows users to avoid defrosting the freezer, with constant air circulation that helps keep the interior free of ice deposits. “Manual defrosting is finally a thing of the past,” BSH claimed Michael Bohn, Senior Vice President Marketing Central Europe for BSH CONFERENCES Don't miss BSH's press conferences, opening the IFA Media Days Date: 30 th August 2023 Location: Hall 1.1 Stands 101 & 102 SIEMENS PRESS CONFERENCE > 10:00 a.m. BOSCH PRESS CONFERENCE > 12:00 p.m. JURA: A new way to grind Germany’s most popular drink JURA's Horst Nikolaus and Wiebke Reineke with the new edition of the E8 integrated coffee machine JURA impressed at the IFA Innovations Media Briefing 2023 by unveiling the newest iteration of its hit E8 coffee machine model. Horst Nikolaus, Managing Director of JURA, revealed that coffee is Germany’s favourite beverage, with 221 litres per head consumed on an annual basis, making it "more popular than water". Not only do Germans love coffee, they are always looking for better quality coffee, which explains JURA's continued success. As a pioneering brand in the field of coffee machines, they have a reported 12% growth in the premium product sector. 2023 is JURA’s “Year of Innovations,” and thus the company has launched its latest iteration of their popular E8 coffee machine. Wiebke Reineke, Head of Sales Promotion and PR, introduced the fourth edition of the E8 machine to the press, showcasing the product’s new features, including a new P.A.G.2-Grinding unit. One of the standout features of the E8 was the new grinding unit's “relaxation state” between grindings, which apparently helps it remain functional over a long period of time. The unit also offers up to seven modes of grinding, making it versatile for different beverages and tastes. “Before, one could only change the grinding during the process, causing the loss of a lot of coffee powder," Ms. Reineke told IFA International. "Now it has become possible to change the grinding during the process, giving users the possibility to get more aroma out of the coffee beans. Today there are so many different types of coffee beans available, but consumers are not yet aware of the importance of adapting the grinding process to each sort.” Ms. Reineke also spotlighted the machine’s robust design as another key selling point. “I love this machine because it has easy handling, with the graphics of the coffee specialties. When it comes to making coffee or tea, the water you use plays a key role in the final taste. But filtering water beforehand can multiply the number of steps and appliances you have to use. BRITA, the brand name synonymous with filtered water, has collaborated with renowned household appliance manufacturers to solve this problem. With the BRITA MAXTRA PRO LIMESCALE EXPERT cartridge, the filtering of water for hot drink preparation becomes a one-step process that saves time and space.
