See page 23 One Stop Brand Shop IFA 2017 develops into the world’s first “all-brand central” Enrique Martinez Managing Director, Fnac Darty group Read exclusive interview, page 22 The focus of IFA 2017 is clear. As underlined by Messe Berlin CEO Dr Christian Göke, “strong brands get increased visibility, and we create new spaces for innovation”. Under the motto “Brands only”, brand manufacturers present their innovations at the central exhibition grounds. With a clear separation between vendors and supply chain players – the latter now gathered together at a one-stopshop at IFA Global Markets at STATION-Berlin, IFA has thus created the world’s first all-brand show in the field of technical consumer goods. This is particularly important for a number of major actors such as Changhong (see page 23), who are able to leverage IFA to boost their global image. STRONG BRANDS GET INCREASED VISIBILITY Getting these brands to market via an increasingly dynamic retail sector is what the show is all about, and all the world’s key players are here for “match making”. An example is the “new look” Fnac Darty group (see our exclusive interview – page 22). LIVING ROOM LIFESTYLE Kostas Vouzas CEO, TP Vision (Philips TV) Europe There seems to be a real momentum around OLED and we, at Phillips TV, definitely believe in the technology and we have now launched three OLED TVs. See page 26 Sit back and relax and enjoy the ride. We’re taking you on a tour of the most innovative new ideas and products when it comes to home entertainment: basically, the coolest way to re-deck your living room. This year, new and improved technologies are the main drivers of the market. Especially in terms of picture quality, a lot has happened in the past twelve months. HDR (High Dynamic Range) for improved contrast and WCG (Wider Colour Gamut) for improved spectrum of colours have further increased picture quality on Ultra- HD/4K TVs. Read from page 25
