TRADE NEWS EURONICS International Increases Presence at IFA 2007: EURONICS International, Europe’s largest consumer electronics buying group with about 9,400 points of sale and an overall turnover of some 10.8 billion, will emphasize its leading role in specialist retail in Europe at this year’s IFA. At the EURONICS booth in hall 5.3, which will cover an area of 400m 2 , the group will show a selection of its successful concepts from European member countries. This will include particularly successful projects in the fields of shop concepts, advertising, e-commerce and members’ communication. Additionally a prototype of an international product information system will be presented at the EURONICS International booth. Further, the current core ranges and presentations of the latest generation products will be on show in the special EURONICS showroom. EURONICS with its presence during IFA especially addresses member retailers, by giving them propositions for their daily business. “We are convinced of the competitiveness of our retailers and the buying group and will use the IFA to demonstrate this,” says Werner Winkelmann, CEO of EURONICS Deutschland AG and President of EURONICS International, justifying its IFA commitment. “Because the IFA provides important and fundamental insights into the increasingly convergent and highly innovative consumer electronics market, our strategic partnership means that we can meet the information needs of our members exactly,” says Winkelmann. 24 IFA International • Friday, 24 th August 2007

The international dealers’ cooperative group ElectronicPartner is intensifying its long-standing and successful partnership with the IFA’s organisers, Gesellschaft für Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikationselektronik (gfu), and Messe Berlin. In 2005 ElectronicPartner was one of the first to support holding the IFA every year, and for decades has been an enthusiastic participant at the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics. “We are putting great effort into planning a fair stand to present visitors with much more than the usual IFA topics. TELERING marketing announces strategic co-operation with gfu The dealers’ buying group Telering Marketing GmbH & CoKG was the third such organisation to agree to work together with the IFA. The discussions and negotiations about this arrangement were successfully concluded today and as a result telering will be lending its active support to the IFA. As in previous years at the International Funkausstellung, telering Marketing GmbH & CoKG will again be represented with its own large stand at the international dealers’ centre. Franz Schnur, General Manager of telering, and Dr. Rainer Hecker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the IFA organizer gfu (Gesellschaft für Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikationselektronik), also speaking on behalf of Messe Berlin, announced this strategic cooperation today. “We had no doubts about immediately accepting the offer to cooperate with the gfu and Messe Berlin in order to actively support the IFA, the most important event for the industry, and to ensure that it fulfils its potential”, emphasized Franz Schnur. “We will be represented by an entirely new information stand, where we can provide visiting dealers with comprehensive details about the advantages of belonging to telering.” “We are particularly pleased that we have also been able to find a cooperating partner for the IFA, in the form of telering Marketing GmbH & CoKG, which is devoted to maintaining the three-stage distribution system via the wholesale sector.
