News DigitalSTROM Presents New Smart Home Applications An increasing number of the devices found in modern homes have open IP interfaces. They include for example UHD televisions, wholeroom audio solutions, refrigerators and tea-makers. These systems form an integral part of the complex of services that make up the smart home solution from digitalSTROM and if required they can also take over other functions. For instance, a doorbell sound can be transmitted to the audio unit, or the smart home system causes the lights to flash when the washing machine in the basement has completed its cycle. In the bathroom and the kitchen too digitalisation via open IP interfaces can create entire new ways of living. At IFA the display by digitalSTROM showed how smart home technology interacts with modern fixtures from Dornbracht. A simple spoken command such as “wash the vegetables” will set the taps in the kitchen to the correct temperature. This is achieved using terminals such as television sets, PCs, tablets or smartphones.
