PRODUCT TRENDS

PRODUCT TRENDS SIMPLICITY ADDS TO RUSSELL HOBBS' ALLURE According to Russell Hobbs, less is more. The UK company's new design line, aptly named "allure", features clearly defined shapes and fine materials and is billed as the prefect antidote to modern life, which is becoming noisier, busier and more confusing by the day. As a result, there is a growing desire among consumers for strong, simple shapes; for calm design and clean lines. The Bauhaus architect Mies van der Rohe was the inspiration for Russell Hobbs' British designer Luke Bradshaw. "The idea was a simple one — to create a geometric range that would stand out from the competition," Bradshaw said. "I would say the design reverts back to early modernist architectural designs of Miles Van De Rohe and Le Corbusier." The allure coffee-maker is operated by pressing a single button. Another key feature is the special stream-brewing process, which produces optimal coffee quality. The allure kettle, meanwhile, has a monolithic appearance, which gives the stainless-steel product a particularly aesthetic quality. Thanks to its one-handed operation, the kettle can be opened by the simple expedient of pressing a button. Other features include a powerful 3,000 watts element, which ensures a rapid boiling time. Russell Hobbs' allure coffee-maker: less is more SOEHNLE WEIGHS INTO ELEGANT DESIGN Soehnle, which specialises in all forms of weighing scales, knows that homemakers and hobby cooks do not like to leave things to chance. In response, the company has launched an innovative and elegant kitchen scale for universal use. Homemakers in particular need allpurpose 'kitchen helpers', Soehnle believes. As a result, the Page Profi kitchen scale, which will be Soehnle's Slim Design Riva: sophisticated design and high functionality available at retail stores this autumn, can do a lot more than your average household scale. Thanks to a one-gram graduation function, weight is displayed with super-precision. With its 15-kg load capacity, Page Profi can also weigh heavy objects, such as large portions of fruit, packages, carry-on bags — even suitcases. And if these are so large that they cover up the weight display, there is a convenient 'hold' function, whereby the weight is displayed for 10 seconds after the object is removed from the scale. Top chef German Mario Pattis formulated his special requirements for kitchen scales: precision, high load capacity and elegant design. With its ultra-flat profile and sleek glass surface, Page Profi proves that an all-purpose scale can also be graceful. Ease-of-use is another Page Profi advantage: its sensor keys ensure easy operation; its glass surface makes it extremely easy to clean and, with its flat shape, it is also easy to store. Hall 3.1 / Stand 108 Soehnle's Page Profi kitchen scale: an all-purpose 'kitchen helper' Soehnle aims to bring more style into everyday life with the Slim Design Riva, a new personal scale that unites functionality, shape and colour in one harmonious unit. The ultra-flat model, which is also due to launch this autumn, is only 18 millimetres high and features a glass surface trimmed with silver enamel. “The Slim Design Riva combines sophisticated design and the highest operating convenience in a particularly elegant way. Soehnle now has a model suitable for all style-conscious users," said Markus Dombrowsky, the company's Marketing Manager.
