Rudarstvo 2011 / Mining 2011PONOVNA UPOTREBA OTPADNOG GIPSA I PEPELA UCEMENTNOJ INDUSTRIJI OKRUPNJAVANJEMPOSTUPKOM PELETIZACIJEREUSE OF WASTE GYPSUM AND FINE ASH BY PELLETIZATIONPROCESS FOR APPLIANCE IN THE CEMENT INDUSTRYVladimir D. IvoševićInstitut za tehnologiju nuklearnih i drugih mineralnih sirovina, BeogradAPSTRAKTU ovom radu su prikazani rezultati laboratorijskih ispitivanja mogućnosti upotrebe otpadnog gipsa i pepla ucementnoj industrirji, nakon okrupnjavanja postupkom peletizacije. Kljuĉne reĉi: pepeo, gips, peletizacija, cementABSTRACTResults of laboratorial tests as well as possibilities of usage wasted gypsum and ash after the agglomerationprocess of cement production are presented in the paper. During the grinding in the cement production, gypsumand ash are added as waste materials in powdered state what caused serious problems happened during thetransport, storage and handling of this materials as well as during the grinding of cement mixture. Investigationsin the field of pelletization that were realized with this waste materials reduce all problems. Keywords: ash, gypsum, pelletization, cement, waste materialsINTRODUCTIONThe production of portland cement, beside other raw materials, requires use of ash resulting from coalcombustion in thermal plants and waste gypsum from chemical industry (Ţivanović, 1981). These twocomponents are added during production to the portland cement klinker before the grinding takesplace. Since the finished portland cement klinker is far coarser that ash and gypsum which in additionwhen powdered contain high level of moisture due to inadequate storage (in open), the problemsduring milling of cement mixture occur. This paper gives the summary of research work done in the laboratory for PMS (Processing of MineralRaw Materials) of ITNMS within the project ―Agglomeration of ash and gypsum mixture in differentratios for use in cement production‖. The project objective is to determine possibility of agglomerationof ash and gypsum mixture by means of pelletisation in order to overcome the problems in handlingand transport of ash and gypsum and problems during grinding of the same.
