stories life may tell, she has been providing readers<br />

The author Gaby Hauptmann lives by Bodensee<br />
but loves relaxing at the Arlberg. And with her book<br />
“5-Sterne-Kerle inklusive” (5-star-guys included) she<br />
set an amusing literary monument for “her” Hotel<br />
edelweiss in <strong>Zürs</strong>.<br />
L.L. ⁄ When and how did you discover the Arlberg for yourself?<br />
g.H. ⁄ In 1981 my then boyfriend and I were actually planning to<br />
go skiing in Hochgurgl. But then there were such heavy snowfalls<br />
we – ike many others who’d gotten lost – ended up in the Hospiz in<br />
St. Christoph. When the weather calmed down the next morning we<br />
beheld a beautiful, glittering, snow covered landscape right in front<br />
of us. It was this day and this early morning in fluffy powder snow<br />
that made me a fan of the Arlberg.<br />
L.L. ⁄ What about <strong>Lech</strong> <strong>Zürs</strong> and the Hotel edelweiss is it that makes<br />
you come back again and again?<br />
g.H. ⁄ For a long time I was a faithful guest at Hospiz and then I<br />
switched to edelweiss in <strong>Zürs</strong>. My heart beats for both hotels alike<br />
but in the meantime I’ve come to love the easygoing way all people<br />
are treated at the edelweiss – no matter who’s sitting at the regular’s<br />
table, they’re accepted into the community and everyone celebrates<br />
together. Also Mani and Sepp are the ideal pair of brothers to be<br />
leading the business. one is an entertainer who manages to create a<br />
great atmosphere with his words and deeds and the other brother is<br />
the quiet one in the background. Still, what with all the merriment,<br />
both have a certain depth to themselves – and that’s what I cherish<br />
most in them.<br />
L.L. ⁄ Do you need 4 or 5 stars when you go on holiday or would you<br />
also go camping?<br />
g.H. ⁄ My parents were passionate campers and as a child and teenager<br />
I always enjoyed our three weeks at Millstätter See or Neuchâteler<br />
