LA LOUPE Lech Zürs No. 3 - Winter

Skiclubstammtisch Edelweiss Zürs, jeden Donnerstag
engl. ⁄ January 3rd 1901 was a milestone in the
history of skiing. Six friends were trudging from
St. Anton to St. Christoph through fresh powder
snow. During a well-deserved break at Hotel Hospiz
at 1,800 altitude meters an idea was born and
immediately put into practice: the founding of
Ski-Club Arlberg! even nowadays it still is a great
honour to be part of this association that is so rich
in tradition. Famous winter sports stars like Trude
Jochum-Beiser, egon Zimmermann, Karl Schranz,
patrick ortlieb and Mario Matt earned medals for
the club. Apart from Arlberg’s skiing legend Hannes
Schneider the list of members comprises some 7,500
names from 56 nations, princess Caroline of Monaco
and prince ernst-August are among them. of course
non-blueblooded guests of the Arlberg are always
welcome to the weekly regular’s table. The member-
ship grants them exclusive advantages and they
support the regional youth-patronage.
