Documentary film is dead,
long live documentary film!
Documentary film today is confronted with essential challenges. Technical
capabilities, audience behaviour and working practices are permanently
changinging alongside this. On the other hand, no other genre is better placed
to react to these new requirements than documentary film. DOK.forum runs
parallel to the DOK.fest film programme and dedicates six days to an audience-friendly
investigation and discussion of themes relevant to the current
realities of documentary work with participating authors, commissioners,
producers and distributers. DOK.forum is located for the first time in the
new building of the University for television and film Munich, which is easily
accessible from the Festival Centre and close to other festival locations in
and around the Munich Museum Quarter.
