announced. The Awards Ceremony will be presented by Moritz Holfelder. A
small reception will follow. For invited guests, accredited visitors as well as

The Documentary:Filmaward:2012 from Bayerischen Rundfunks and Telepool
GmbH (worth 10,000 EUR). The films from the DOK.international section are
nominated for this award.
BLM Film Award 2012 from the Bayerischen Landeszentrale für neue Medien
(worth 5,000 EUR). The films from the DOK.deutsch section are nominated
for this award.
The Horizons Prize 2012 from DOK.fest Munich (worth 3,000 EUR). The films
from the DOK.horizons section are nominated for this award. ARTE is the
sponsor of this section.
The FFF Documentary Talent Award 2012 (worth 5,000 EUR) for upcoming

DOK.guest Arabische Welten
Die Reihe DOK.guest präsentiert in diesem Jahr Filme aus und über den
arabischen Raum, die sich mit den politischen Umwälzungen in der Region
befassen. Dabei kehren die Filmemacher in zweifacher Hinsicht zurück an
die jeweiligen Orte des Geschehens: Während die einen noch den (eigenen)
Revolutionserfahrungen nachspüren, fragen andere bereits nach der Nachhaltigkeit
des erhofften gesellschaftlichen Wandels.
Die fünf Dokumentarfilme der DOK.guest-Reihe nähern sich ihrem
Thema dabei künstlerisch auf ganz unterschiedliche Weise. Gemein ist ihnen
der genaue und respektvolle Blick auf ihre Protagonisten und die Schaffung
eines Raumes für Reflexion jenseits der tagesaktuellen Bilderflut der Nachrichtenkanäle.

This year’s DOK.guest section presents films from and about the
Arab region, that deal with the political upheavals that have taken place
there. In these films the filmmakers return to the specific locations of the
events in two respects: while some look back at the (personal) experiences
of the revolution, others are already questioning the sustainability of the
social change that people longed for.
The five documentary films in the DOK.guest section artistically
approach their subject-matter in completely different ways. Common to
them all however is their faithful and respectful approaches towards their
protagonists and the way they establish a space for reflection that takes us
beyond the news channels’ daily torrent of images. Andrea Kuhn

Nürnberger Filmfestival der Menschenrechte konzipiert.
