ist taub-blind; Bewohner des Planets der Schnecken, die die Welt über den
Tastsinn wahrnehmen. Wenn seine Frau Soon-Ho mit ihm spricht, ist Sprache
Nähe: Sie tippt mit ihren Fingern auf seine Hände. Soon-Ho ist young-
Chans Brücke ins Leben. Umso härter ist für beide die Erkenntnis, dass
young-Chan lernen muss, auch ohne sie klarzukommen. Eine Entdeckungsreise
beginnt, immer beflügelt von young-Chans Traum, Autor zu werden.
PLANET OF SNAIL ist eine Liebesgeschichte, die uns mit allen Sinnen erfahren

“I am an astronaut, dreaming with my fingertips.” young-Chan is
deaf and blind – an inhabitant of the Planet of Snail, for he, like the snail,
perceives the world through his sense of touch. When his wife, Soon-Ho,
speaks to him, the language they use is proximity: she taps with her fingers
on his hands. Soon-Ho is young-Chan’s bridge to the world, which makes it
all the harder for them both to realise that young-Chan must also learn to
get along without her. A journey of discovery begins, motivated by young-
Chan’s dream of becoming an author. PLANET OF SNAIL is a love story that
allows us to experience, with all of our senses, that communication always

Regie SEUNGJUN YI – Südkorea. Realisierte nach diversen Dokumentationen
fürs Fernsehen 2008 CHILDREN OF GOD, der weltweit auf Festivals
gezeigt wurde. In seinen Filmen porträtiert er stets auf seine ganz eigene
Art „unsichtbare Minderheiten“.

Rechokim – The Collaborator and His Family
„Ich habe mein Land verraten.“ Seit 1967 arbeitet der israelische Geheimdienst
mit palästinensischen Kollaborateuren zusammen. Einer von ihnen
ist Ibrahim El-Akel. Nach der Ermordung seines Bruders durch die Hamas
verlässt die Familie Hebron und sucht eine bessere Zukunft in Tel Aviv. Doch
ohne Aufenthaltsgenehmigung scheint es unmöglich, ein normales Leben zu
führen. Die drei Söhne werden regelmäßig von der Polizei aufgegriffen und
gleiten dem Vater zunehmend aus der Hand. Das Warten auf die versprochenen
Papiere scheint endlos und der israelische Agent steht schon vor der
Tür, um den nächsten Kollaborateur anzuwerben. Spannend erzählte Evolution
einer Familie ohne offizielle Daseinsberechtigung. Anja Klauck
“I have betrayed my country.” Since 1967 Israeli intelligence has
worked together with Palestinian collaborators. One of them is Ibrahim El-
Akel. When his brother is murdered by Hamas, Ibrahim and his family leave
Hebron in search of a better future in Tel Aviv but without residence permits
it seems impossible for them to lead a normal life. The three sons are
regularly picked up by the police and are increasingly slipping out of their
father’s grasp. There is a seemingly endless wait for the papers they have
been promised and, meanwhile, an Israeli agent is already out knocking
on doors trying to sign up the next collaborator. An exciting account of the
evolution of a family without an official right to exist. Anja Klauck
